SUSPECTS SOUGHT IN ARMED BURGLARY
A city of Live Oak homeowner entered into his house only to find four males burglarizing his home, Live Oak Police Department Det. Justin Bates said.
The house in the 700 block of Hamilton Avenue was forcibly entered.
According to Bates, the four black males, were armed with guns.
“As the homeowner walked in the door, the black males pointed a gun at him and ordered him back outside the house. We had Hamilton K9 respond but we could not locate anything. No injuries were reported,” Bates said.
The items taken from the home were miscellaneous and nothing “extravagant” Bates said. The homeowner was not able to give very detailed descriptions of the suspects, just that it was four armed, black males, Bates said.
To report any more information regarding this case, please contact Bates at 386-362-7423 or call Crime Stoppers of Suwannee County at 386-208-TIPS.

SOME "TIPS" ON CRIME PREVENTION
FROM THE LIVE OAK POLICE DEPARMENT
When you're away from your car, even for just a short time, the only thing between an opportunistic thief and the valuables in your car is a sheet of safety glass.??
Many times car burglars are after your stereo, CD collection or other loose belongings left in your car. They target things like cell phones, iPods or even your wallet, purse, laptop or garage door opener that is in plain sight.??
1) Hide your valuables. Smash-and-grab car burglars aren't exactly criminal masterminds. Keep valuable belongings with you, or out of sight. Car floors, dashboards and seats are not good places to leave items like:
Purses and wallets?
- Laptop bags, briefcases and backpacks?
- Shopping bags
- Cell phones and MP3 players
- Loose change and CDs
- Keys
?2) Keep your car visible. The last thing thieves want is a crowd of onlookers to witness their crime. You can help prevent a burglary by parking your car in crowded areas, such as:??
- Busy parking lots and designated spaces, near pedestrian and vehicle traffic?
- Well-lit spaces, especially those near a lamppost if you're out after dusk??3) Make burglaries difficult.
- ?Lock your doors and roll up your windows when you park
- ?Activate your security system?
- Avoid using the console or glove box as mobile lockboxes??
4) Don't hand a car burglar your keys. Leaving your key on the dash or in the ignition is an invitation to a car burglar or car thief. Keep in mind that if you have a great hiding place for a spare key (in your wheel well or above your sun visor), a thief has thought of it, too.
5) Trust your instincts. If you see suspicious activity, find somewhere else to park. Don't confront anyone. If you're concerned, report your suspicions to the police. By reporting suspicious activity to the proper authorities, you can help prevent others from becoming a victim of a car burglaries and other crimes.

You can also report any suspicious activities to our TIPS LINE. We want you to stay safe and enjoy the upcoming warmer weather!
